One thing that you cannot overlook doing whilst you are in Cairns is visiting the Outer Great Barrier Reef. There are so many brightly coloured fish and other marine life that your brain will spin and your trigger finger will get sore from taking so many photographs.
There are four different kinds of reef cruises that you could do, and it all depends on your pesonality as to which variation is going to go well with you. You should know, As I have done all but one or two reef daytrips from Cairns , I have selected the reef cruises that I considered were the best and then placed them in to two different sections.
These tours are great value for money and are in the main for the youthful. However, if you’re adventurous in nature, you’ll absolutely like these day cruises.

‘Passions’ has their very own scuba diving site on the Outer Barrier Reef out of Cairns, meaning nobody else sharing your beach towel (no overcrowding)! The crew are very inter-active with all of the passengers, getting you involved in the whole lot of the days activities. You will not be able to escape them once they come around to paint your face with zinc cream (the whole lot in the name of skin cancer awareness!), or when they try to get you dance the waltz about the top deck of the boat on the way home.
Scuba diving is available, and ‘Passions’ is in reality the 1st boat I ever did a scuba dive on. If you’re as worried as I was, the very professional dive instructors will hold your hand the whole way!.
